Mimi James was named senior VP, talent and creative development, for VH1. She will report to Brian Graden, president, entertainment, MTV and VH1. Ms. James was most recently VP, talent and creative development, VH1. Ms. James has secured talent for such event programming as “VH1 Divas,” “VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards,” “VH1 Big in 2002 Awards” and “Concert of the Century.” She has overseen casting for various series, including “I Love the ’80s” and VH1’s “100 Greatest.” She joined VH1 in 1996 as director, talent and creative development. Before joining VH1 she served as talent executive for “Late Show With David Letterman,” and before that she worked in the talent department at E!, where she helped launch Howard Stern’s talk show.
