Tina Brown’s debut

Magazine maven Tina Brown, whose CNBC talk show, now called Topic A: The New M.O. in the Postwar World in Business, Politics and Conversation, was postponed when war broke out in March, finally debuts Wednesday with high-profile guests including: Sony America Chair Sir Howard Stronger, newspaper baron Conrad Black, Jordan’s Queen Noor and USA Interactive Chairman Barry Diller.

Ownership hearing

After delays caused by weather and war, USC finally presents its forum on the FCC’s pending review of media ownership regulations Monday in Los Angeles. FCC commissioners Michael Copps, above, and Jonathan Adelstein will be joined by leaders from the entertainment industry, media organizations and academic institutions.

Wells at academy

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Activities Committee presents “An Evening With John Wells and Friends from ER, Third Watch and The West Wing” on Wednesday in North Hollywood. Panelists include cast and producers from ER (Laura Innes and Lydia Woodward), Third Watch (Michael Beach and Molly Price) and The West Wing (John Spencer and Bradley Whitford) and Dana Delany from Presidio Med and China Beach.
