`Scary’ Shannen Doherty vs. Paris the Heiress

Former 90210 and Charmed star Shannen Doherty relishes her bad-girl image, which seems appropriate for her new gig as host of Scare Tactics, Sci-Fi Channel’s push-the-envelope version of Candid Camera. However, she insists there is no feud with Paris Hilton, 22, the model, actress and heiress due to star in a new Fox series, The Simple Life (Green Acres as a reality show). Ms. Hilton told the New York Post last month that Ms. Doherty physically attacked her in an L.A. nightclub and later was behind an attack on her car, which was smeared with eggs, Vaseline and red lipstick. The widely reported feud is said to be over Ms. Doherty’s estranged husband, Rick Solomon, a sometime movie producer and Internet gambling entrepreneur. After telling reporter Danielle Parker that she wanted to take the “high road” and “not discuss it,” Ms. Doherty said Ms. Hilton had “exaggerated” and “made stuff up,” charging that Ms. Hilton “loves the publicity, whether it be good or bad.” “All I want to say is if a man is married, stay the hell away from him because that’s wrong and it’s disrespectful. … It’s not what women are supposed to do to other women. We’re supposed to be sisters and all that crap.” Ms. Doherty insists she’s unconcerned about her image: “I could care less what people think about me. … It’s absolutely nobody’s business. … My friends and family know me. That’s all that matters.” Ms. Hilton declined comment.
