Britney Talks TV

Pop star Britney Spears is in talks for a daily syndicated talk show, which she would executive produce and also occasionally appear on, usually in videotaped segments. There is already interest in the project from both King World and Telepictures, sources said.
The sexy 21-year-old former Mouseketeer has been on a self-imposed hiatus for most of the past year. She is due to release a new album this fall, and will star in a September concert to kick off the NFL season. She is also reported to be in talks to star as Daisy Duke in a big-screen remake of “The Dukes of Hazzard” (with Ashton Kutcher as Luke Duke).
The format of her proposed five-time-a-week talk show strip is said to incorporate elements of a newsmagazine and traditional talk shows, and would focus on modern lifestyles. “I think you can safely say that she’s looking to expand her empire,” said one insider. “Television is certainly one way to go.”
Ms. Spears’ agents at ICM could not be reached for comment.
