After months of complaining on-air about Telepictures and some of his former employees who were involved in the short-lived ABC show “Are You Hot?” shock jock Howard Stern has suddenly grown quiet. The stillness in a onetime war of words apparently follows an out-of-court settlement in a $10 million lawsuit filed by Mr. Stern against the TV producers he accused of lifting his idea for a reality show on which people’s looks are rated. The lawsuit claimed “Are You Hot?” was “a blatant rip-off” of his radio segment “The Evaluators.” In addition, Mr. Stern claimed its failure destroyed his chance to make a potentially lucrative deal for a new show with pay-TV service Showtime. Details of the reported settlement have not been revealed.
