Two-time Oscar nominee Joan Cusack, currently in the hit movie “School of Rock,” will be in Washington on Wednesday to host the 19th Annual Women in Cable & Telecommunications Foundation Benefit Gala, which supports programs to find and develop women for industry leadership posts. This year’s honorees include Rainbow’s Kathleen Dore, the AMC network, Cox’s Janet Barnard and Lifetime Television.
Alumni Return For `MadTV’ 200th
Fox’s late-night show “MadTV” airs its 200th episode Saturday night. Former cast members Alex Borstein, Orlando Jones, Artie Lang, Will Sasso and Nicole Sullivan are slated to return to help the current cast celebrate the milestone. Comedian Tommy Davidson also returns for a guest spot. “MadTV” is in its ninth season.
Exec Management Training in Banff
The Alliance Atlantis Banff Television Executive Program, established in June 1999, on Thursday kicks off a week-long management and leadership training program for broadcast, production and new media executives at Buffalo Mountain Lodge in Banff, Alberta, Canada. Executive Director Jim Byrd said participants include CEOs, presidents, directors of companies, executive producers, program distributors, broadcast financiers, advertising and marketing executives, managers and producers.
