What can a dollar buy today? How about ratings? To promote the launch of the three-part “Traffic: The Miniseries” on the USA Network, The Media Kitchen in New York affixed 50,000 one-dollar bills with peel-off stickers stamped with the airdate, time and channel. The bills were slipped into circulation in New York and L.A. “Money is central to the series plot,” Paul Woolmington, chairman of Media Kitchen, told our sister publication Advertising Age. “Money lures people into this world of illegal trafficking, which is not just about drugs but also goods, weapons and even human beings, which are the series’ focus.
