The American Association of Advertising Agencies’ 2004 Media Conference and Trade Show opens Wednesday at the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Studios in Orlando, Fla., and in conjunction with the show, TelevisionWeek has announced the selection of MediaVest Worldwide’s Pam Zucker as the TelevisionWeek Media Buyer of the Year for 2004. (See Special Report, Page 16.) Ms. Zucker will receive the award May 4 at the 2004 Upfront Summit, sponsored by TelevisionWeek and Advertising Age, at the Grand Hyatt New York.
Court In Session
The recent action by Congress to cap station group ownership at 39 percent of the U.S. television market may not be the final word. On Wednesday the U.S. Court of Appeals in Philadelphia hears oral arguments in lawsuits seeking to overturn last year’s original decision by the Federal Communications Commission to relax media ownership regulations. One controversial ruling at issue is a regulation that barred broadcasters from buying daily newspapers in their markets.
