Oprah Winfrey receives the 2004 Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of Broadcasters during the All-Industry opening session April 19 at the Las Vegas Hilton. The annual lifetime achievement honor (TelevisionWeek, April 19) goes to a broadcaster who has made a significant contribution to American broadcasting by virtue of singular achievement or continuing service.
