Nurse Darva On Call for `Vegas’ Game

GSN, formerly known as the Game Show Network, has been trying to broaden its programming to include fare other than game shows. So it asked Darva Conger, who infamously once married a multimillionaire on TV (and quickly divorced him), to host a hidden-camera special that will air beginning June 18 called “Vegas Weddings Unveiled.” The fact that Sin City is the “gaming capital of the world” apparently makes it a fit. GSN President and CEO Rich Cronin said the show “fits our programming lineup, for marriage is the most dangerous game of all. Darva was the perfect choice as host since she experienced controversy in the first reality show scandal, which was also about marriage.”
While still living down her brief experience as Mrs. Rick Rockwell, Ms. Conger occasionally takes time out from her nursing career to work on TV. “It’s been four years. I’m still recognized frequently and, obviously, still asked to do things like `Vegas Weddings,”’ she told Blink. ”Showbiz is treating me a hell of a lot better than it did a couple of years ago, I guess you could say.” Ms. Conger said she’s pleased that “Unveiled” is a lighthearted look at unconventional weddings, proving that reality TV “doesn’t always have to be mean and nasty.”
