Poster parody

If The WB’s marketing gurus Bob Bibb and Lew Goldstein need fresh ideas, they should call actor Paul Johansson, who plays patriarch Dan Scott on “One Tree Hill.” He came up with the idea for this poster spoofing The WB’s current marketing campaign. The idea came to him on set one day when he and Barry Corbin (Coach Whitey) were doing impersonations of the younger cast members. (“Barry was doing a great Chad Michael Murray-without the hair, of course,” he said.) Mr. Johansson mentioned the idea to his on-screen wife, Barbara Alyn Woods, who ran with it. “I have all these good ideas but I’m not very good at executing them,” he said. The five actors in the photo chipped in to print about 700 posters, which they plastered over Wilmington, N.C., where the show is filmed, and displayed them at the wrap party. They also sent six framed copies to Warner Bros. executives. “We got some great phone calls,” Mr. Johansson said. “A lot of people called us and said they wanted us to sign it. We signed 50 of them for a bunch of people all over.” But there is one other version of the poster that no one saw. In it Craig Sheffer, who is wearing the tight camisole top that Hilarie Burton wore in the real poster, has his top pulled down below his breast so you can see his nipple. “We just went crazy,” Mr. Johansson said, “but we thought it might be pushing it just a touch, so we let that one go.”
