For those who can’t get enough of Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, the wait is nearly over. Fox soon will announce a mid-June premiere date for “Simple Life 2,” sources said. Fox now launches shows throughout the year and is expected early this week to unveil the lineup for its new season, which will kick off in early June. In “Simple Life’s” second season, Ms. Hilton and Ms. Richie will take their fish-out-of-water reality show on the road.

Ted Koppel, anchor and managing editor of ABC News’ “Nightline,” receives the Paul White Award, named after the first news director at CBS, from the Radio-Television News Directors Association Monday evening in Las Vegas as part of the combined RTNDA and National Association of Broadcasters convention. On Tuesday Mr. Koppel addresses the Hollywood Radio & Television Society in Beverly Hills, and will be introduced by Disney President Robert Iger.

CBS Television President Leslie Moonves will be honored Wednesday in Los Angeles during the New Millennium Ball, which benefits The Aesculapians Fund at the UCLA School of Medicine, supporting scholarships, research and clinical programs.
Oh, Pioneers
TV Land on Wednesday launches a six-part documentary series, “TV Land Moguls.” Part 1 focuses on the 1950s, when pioneers such as Lucille Ball, Sheldon Leonard and Danny Thomas helped create the first character-driven sitcoms shot in front of a live audience with three cameras.
