What lifetime means to me

President, Sci Fi Channel
Former director of programming, Lifetime
“For me, it was a really wonderful feeling to be involved in the early stages of a channel targeting a wonderful demographic. Carole Black has done a brilliant job for the whole channel on the public affairs side, getting involved in true issues important to women of all ages. I started at Lifetime in 1987, and we started the ball rolling with a series of documentaries on child abuse, women and AIDS, gangs, date rape and postpartum blues. It was wonderful to do something in the entertainment world more than simply entertain. It’s definitely a channel with a reason for being.”
