MTV Offers Hints About LOGO Programming

MTV Networks on Friday gave a first peek, albeit vague, at the programming strategy for its planned gay and lesbian channel, LOGO, on Friday. The network has acquired a library of 150 movie and documentary features and has 20 projects in development with celebrity names such as Cher, Chastity Bono, Alan Cummings and Margaret Cho.

“In addition to a phenomenal library of acquired films and specials, the programming we’re developing will speak in an authentic voice to this audience,” said Matt Farber, an executive consultant who brought the LOGO concept to MTV Networks and is leading the channel’s launch. “We’re building this brand to reflect their diversity and tastes through an array of genres, all informed by a gay point of view.” The network will launch on Feb. 17, 2005.
