NCTA Announces Search for Sachs’ Successor

The National Cable & Telecommunications Association on Wednesday announced the appointment of Decker Anstrom, president and chief operating officer of Landmark Communications, and Robert Miron, chairman and CEO of Advance/Newhouse Communications, as co-chairmen of a search committee to find a successor for Robert Sachs, the association’s president and CEO.

Mr. Sachs has announced his intention to step down when his current contract expires at the end of the year. Also named to the search committee were Nick Davatzes, president and CEO, A&E Television Networks; Ron Duncan, president, GCI Cable; Jim Robbins, president and CEO, Cox Communications; Brian Roberts, president and CEO, Comcast Corp.; Michael Willner, vice chairman and CEO, Insight Communications; and Glenn Britt, chairman and CEO, Time Warner Cable. In a statement, NCTA said the search committee’s first mission will be to retain an executive recruiting firm to help find candidates for the job.
