A cable channel that hasn’t yet launched is already getting a new brand: Reality Central, the start-up network driven by CEO Larry Namer, has changed its name to Reality 24-7.

According to a statement by the network, the switch was made to reflect the network’s commitment to original programming, international and stateside acquisitions and VOD platforms.

“Reality 24-7 is a perfect fit with how we’ve evolved our concept,” Mr. Namer said. “As both the genre and the technology available to us have grown, so have our plans and, in turn, our name.”

The channel also made three executive appointments to its board of directors: Former Fox Broadcasting Chair Lucie Salhany, William Morris President and CEO Jim Wiatt and investment manager David Siminoff.

Reality Central announced distribution deals with Insight and Mediacom earlier this year.

Fox Cable Networks recently announced a reality channel of its own: Fox Reality Channel.

Both channels expect to debut early next year.
