Charter Communications said Wednesday that Chief Financial Officer Michael Huseby will leave the cable operator to take a similar post at Cablevision Systems.

Mr. Huseby’s departure is effective Aug. 20. Charter did not announce a replacement, but said one will be named shortly.

At Cablevision, Mr. Huseby will be replacing William Bell, the company’s vice chairman and CFO, who in June announced his plan to retire by year-end. Mr. Bell will stay on as a consultant to the company through 2007.
