According to Nielsen Media Research, the week of July 26 to Aug. 1 was another win for CBS among adults 18 to 49 and households, but some of CBS’s competitors’ new summer offerings are creating their own Nielsen numbers.

Fox’s family-swapping reality show “Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy” was the No. 1-ranked program among adults 18 to 34 (5.0/17) and the No. 2-ranked program among adults 18 to 49 (3.4/11) in its second outing, growing over its premiere episode numbers the week before.

The WB had a surprisingly strong showing with the premiere of its sketch comedy show “Blue Collar TV,” which attracted 5.4 million viewers. It was the strongest delivery by a comedy this season on The WB and the second-largest audience ever in its Thursday time period for the network, scoring a 2.3/9 among adults 18 to 34 and 2.1/8 among adults 18 to 49.

ABC’s reality show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” continued to do well for the ratings-challenged network, with a rerun of the show taking the No. 1 spot on Sunday night for the third consecutive week among adults 18 to 49 and adults 18 to 34. ABC’s new summer family drama won its Sunday 10 p.m. time period among adults 18 to 34 (2.1/7). “The Days” also took first place in its time period among women 18 to 49 (3.3/9) and women 18 to 34 (3.2/10).

Overall, household numbers for the Big 3 were down over the previous week, thanks to coverage of the Democratic National Convention.
