The National Cable & Telecommunications Association today announced that it has hired the executive search firm Korn/Ferry International to find a candidate to succeed Robert Sachs, the association’s president and CEO.
After getting a cold shoulder from the association’s board, Mr. Sachs announced he would not seek to renew his employment contract when it expires Dec. 31. In a statement today, the co-chairmen of the association’s search committee-Robert Miron, chairman and CEO, Advance/Newhouse Communications, and Decker Anstrom, president and chief operating officer, Landmark Communications-said Korn/Ferry will launch its search immediately. The two cable industry executives declined comment on when the search would be completed.
In a statement, NCTA said applicants should get in touch with Korn/Ferry’s Washington office. Mr. Sachs has agreed to continue serving as the NCTA’s head until his successor is ready to take over.
