Lifetime has ordered a sixth season of the veteran medical drama “Strong Medicine,” a spokesman confirmed. The announcement was made by Lifetime President and CEO Carole Black during a party for the show at the Sony Pictures Television studio in Culver City, Calif., Wednesday.

“Thanks to the passion and dedication of Tammy Ader, Whoopi Goldberg and our cast and crew, ‘Strong Medicine’ is a wonderful show that we are tremendously proud of,” said Russ Krasnoff, president, programming and production, Sony Pictures Television. “We’re not only thrilled to be making another season of the series for Lifetime but are also so happy to be reaching these milestones, which speaks to the power of well-told stories and to the opportunities in basic cable.”
