Before it launches new seasons of “Smallville” and “Gilmore Girls” Oct. 4, ABC Family plans to air original specials on the two series. The “Smallville Backstage Special” will appear Oct. 2 at 8 p.m., and the “Gilmore Girls Backstage Special” will appear Oct. 3 at 8 p.m. In each special cast members talk about their favorite moments from past seasons of the show.
