CBS’s Monday night lineup of repeat comedies and “CSI: Miami” won the night in households, but a new episode of “Fear Factor,” a special airing of “Hawaii” and a “Last Comic Standing” repeat helped NBC win the night in adults 18 to 49.

According to Nielsen Media Research, CBS garnered a 6.6 rating and 11 share Monday night in households in the preliminary nationals, and a 3.2/9 in adults 18 to 49. NBC trailed with a 4.9/8 household number, but got a slight edge among adults 18 to 49 with a 3.3/9. CBS got some more bragging rights thanks to “CSI: Miami,” which was the highest-rated show of the night in both households (8.2/14) and the 18 to 49 demo (4.0/11).

On Fox the season premiere of the nighttime soap “North Shore” got a 1.8/5 in adults 18 to 49, down from its summer debut of 2.3/7 and its summer average of 2.1/7. The time period premiere of “Renovate My Family” got a 2.7/7 in the 18 to 49 demo, down from last year’s premiere of the drama “Skin” (2.7/6), but up 50 percent from its “North Shore” lead-in.

ABC got a 3.7/6 for the night in households and a 1.9/5 in the 18 to 49 demo thanks to comedy repeats and “20/20,” a last-minute scheduling choice since the network planned to air college football from Florida until it was canceled because of Hurricane Frances.

The WB edged out UPN among households (1.8/3 vs. 1.5/2), but repeats of “One on One,” Half & Half,” and two episodes of “Girlfriends” beat out “7th Heaven” and “Everwood” reruns among adults 18 to 49 (0.9/3 vs. 0.8/2).
