Expert Panel Kicks Off TVWeek’s Prestigious Industry Series

TelevisionWeek has announced an outstanding panel of industry experts will discuss “The Future of Television” at TelevisionWeek’s first Power Breakfast event, set for Sept. 23 in Los Angeles.

A limited number of seats are available for the kickoff of the Power Breakfast series, designed to keep industry insiders up to date on the latest business trends.

TelevisionWeek Publisher Chuck Ross announced the panelists:

MARK CUBAN, Founder of HDNet, star, ABC’s “The Benefactor” and owner of the Dallas Mavericks

TED HARBERT, President and CEO, E! Networks, and a former top broadcast network executive

ROGER KEATING, President, Time Warner Cable, Los Angeles, and a longtime cable industry executive

DENNIS PATRICK, President, National Geographic Ventures, and former chairman of the Federal Communications Commission

TelevisionWeek Editor Alex Ben Block will serve as moderator for the event, set for 8-11 a.m. Sept. 23 at the St. Regis Hotel in Century City.

Mr. Block said the panel will examine the revolutionary changes in television viewing that are sweeping the industry and having huge impact on broadcast, cable, programming and advertising.

These changes include the digital video recorder, video-on-demand, high-definition television, the digital conversion of TV stations and much more. Power

Breakfast attendees will learn the latest on programming, scheduling, financing and distributing TV to a mass audience.

“The Future of Television” is the first of three Power Breakfast events to be held in Los Angeles. “Branded Entertainment” is scheduled for Nov. 3 and TVWeek‘s annual “Syndication Roundtable” will take place Dec. 8.
