Federal lawmakers will continue to fight media industry consolidation, even though powerful broadcasting industry lobbyists are likely to defeat legislation aimed at thwarting their business interests. That was the assessment offered by Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., at hearings today before the Senate Commerce Committee. “We won’t give up the fight,” Sen. McCain said. “I am also confident that [the National Association of Broadcasters] will probably prevail here again.”
