Three powerful television station groups — Allbritton Communications, Cox Television and Granite Broadcasting — have signed on for Local People Meter (LPM) service in Atlanta, Detroit, San Francisco and Washington. Nielsen launched Local People Meters in Boston in 2002 and so far this year has introduced the service in the New York, Los Angeles and Chicago markets. Rollouts of LPMs are planned for the San Francisco, Philadelphia, Washington, Detroit, Dallas and Atlanta television markets by May 2006.
