Touchstone Adds, Promotes Creative Executives

Touchstone Television’s Julia Franz, executive VP, creative affairs, announced Monday promotions and new hires in the comedy and drama departments at Touchstone Television. In the comedy series department, Nina Howie and Jodie Platt have both been promoted to VP, from executive director. Patrick Maguire will join as senior manager and Sarah Hughes as manager. They will report to Alex Weinberger, VP, comedy series.

In the drama series department, Channing Dungey will join Touchstone as VP and Michael McDonald as executive director. Nicole Norwood has been elevated to executive director from director, and Brian Harvey has been promoted to director from manager. They will report to Morgan Wandell, senior VP, who joined the department in July.

Ms. Howie and Ms. Platt will be responsible for overseeing new comedy development, as well as current series. Both joined the company in 2000. Mr. Maguire and Ms. Hughes joined Touchstone as assistants in 2002.

Ms. Dungey helped form Dexterity Pictures, which developed for both film and television. Ms. Dungey also served as senior VP of Material, where she co-produced “Queen of the Damned,” “Showtime,” and “The Big Bounce.” Mr. McDonald is a former director of drama development at UPN, and previously served as VP of television for Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert’s Renaissance Pictures.

Ms. Norwood joined Touchstone Television as director, drama series, in December 2002. Prior to joining Touchstone, she served as manager of current programming and drama development at The WB. Mr. Harvey joined Touchstone Television in December of 2000 from the Paramount-based Mutual Film Company.
