Hurricane Frances has driven ratings higher on The Weather Channel. The Weather Channel’s total-day rating Thursday was a 1.1, representing 1 million homes. The total-day household rating Wednesday was 0.8, or 668,000 homes. Coverage included analysis and commentary by TWC hurricane expert Steve Lyons, who updated the hurricane track, intensity and outlook throughout its development. By Friday, The Weather Channel had five on-camera meteorologists on location to report from areas in Florida that were bracing themselves for the onslaught of the hurricane.
