Blackbelt TV said Thursday it has signed a distribution agreement with Comcast Cable covering both a linear channel and a video-on-demand service. Terms were not disclosed.

Blackbelt president Joshua Wexler said the timing of the rollout was still being negotiated. He said he would prefer to be rolled out on as many systems as possible at one time in order to maximize the channel’s marketing effort, rather than go online in one market at a time.

He said the channel’s tier was still undetermined. “We don’t care. Sports tier, digital basic. Our audience seeks this programming no matter where it is. We’re just glad to be in business with Comcast,” Mr. Wexler said.

This is the first carriage agreement announced by Blackbelt. Mr. Wexler said more were imminent.
