Divney to Rejoin MTV Networks

Larry Divney is rejoining MTV Networks as part of a series of executive changes announced today. Mr. Divney, who retired as president of Comedy Central in June, was named chief operating officer, ad sales, for MTV Networks.

“I’m excited to be back working for the best media brands in the world,” Mr. Divney said. He replaces Bob Backish, who recently was named executive VP at Viacom.

Also joining MTV Networks is Denmark West, who was named executive VP, strategy and business development. Mr. West was manager of strategic planning and investment governance and acting chief of staff of the Windows client division at Microsoft Corp.

MTV Networks also today officially named Van Toffler as MTV Networks Group president, responsible for MTV, MTV2, VH1, CMT and Logo. Brian Graden was named president of Logo in addition to president of entertainment, MTV Networks Music Group.

Doug Herzog, president of Comedy Central, will report to MTV Networks Chairman and CEO Judy McGrath, while Mr. Graden and the heads of VH1 and CMT will report to Mr. Toffler.
