The WB is not giving its Friday night family sitcom “Grounded For Life” a full-season order, which means the final original episode of the Carsey-Werner production will air sometime in early 2005.

The show, which is scheduled for an off-network cable run on ABC Family Channel, will have a total of 91 episodes. For 2004-05, the show’s fifth season, “Grounded” was given a 13-episode order but its license fees were cut by a third. It will stay in production a few more weeks to complete this season’s 13-episode order.

“Grounded” debuted in February 2001 on Fox as a single-camera hybrid. The show ran 15 of its initial 20 episodes during its first season, while five were held over. “Grounded” got a 17-episode order in its second season.

In its third season Fox ran three episodes of the show from September to December before “Grounded” moved to The WB in February and had its format tweaked. It wasn’t until the 2003-04 season — its fourth — that “Grounded for Life” launched in the fall and had an entire 22-episode run.
