Cable network Comedy Central announced Monday it would exclusively air the third season finale of NBC’s recently pre-empted reality series “Last Comic Standing” on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 8 p.m. (ET).

Last week on his Web site “Last Comic” host and executive producer Jay Mohr wrote the last episode of the series would not run Oct. 12 as scheduled because of an extra airing of the animated comedy “Father of the Pride.”

The third season premiered Aug. 31, just weeks after the finale of the show’s second installment. The third season featured comics from the first and second seasons competing against each other for a $250,000 prize. NBC has not announced if it has canceled the show.

“Last Comic Standing 3,” which was labeled “Battle for the Best,” is produced by Peter Engel Productions in association with NBC Enterprises and Giraffe Productions. Peter Engel, Jay Mohr and Barry Katz are executive producers and Rob Fox is co-executive producer.
