Louis Rukeyser, the financial advisor who has been a fixture on television for more than three decades, will not be returning to “Louis Rukeyser’s Wall Street” on CNBC. In a statement released Friday he said he cannot predict when he will recover from “serious complications” that sidelined him last spring when surgery for back pain revealed a low-grade malignancy that required treatment.

CNBC President Pamela Thomas-Graham said the business-news channel will suspend production of Mr. Rukeyser’s show by Dec. 31, 2004. Until then, the show will be hosted by Consuelo Mack and continue to be telecast Friday nights at 7:30 p.m. and to be rebroadcast on 162 public television stations each weekend.
