Barrington Broadcasting, a station group run by former National Association of Broadcasters board member K. James Yager, on Monday struck a deal to acquire CBS affiliate KRCG-TV in Columbia-Jefferson City, Mo., from Mel Wheeler Inc. Terms were not disclosed.

The transaction, which awaits Federal Communications Commission approval, would bring to five the number of stations owned by Hoffman Estates, Ill.-based Barrington.

Barrington also owns the NBC affiliate in the Flint-Saginaw, Mich., market; the ABC station in Peoria-Bloomington, Ill.; the CBS affiliate in Quincy, Ill.-Hannibal, Mo.; and a start-up WB affiliate in the Flint-Saginaw market.
