CNN Plans Push For ‘Aviator’

CNN is launching a multiplatform promotional push for Miramax’s new film “The Aviator,” the companies said today.

Spots promoting the movie will air on the CNN networks and encourage viewers to log on to CNN.com for a chance to win a trip to Hollywood. In addition, branded movie promotional banners will run on CNN.com, directing users to a promotional mini-site for “The Aviator.” On the mini-site, users can enter the sweepstakes, watch the movie trailer and obtain information about the film. Also included in the sponsorship is a first-look Miramax-produced “Making of: The Aviator” promotional feature that will air on the CNN Airport Network beginning in December.

“The Aviator,” directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Kate Beckinsale, Jude Law and Alec Baldwin, premieres nationwide in theaters Dec. 17.
