Larry Divney on Thursday was named president, MTV Networks Ad Sales, as expected (TVWeek, Dec. 13), and Doug Rohrer was named executive VP and senior adviser to Mr. Divney, focusing on areas including emerging new media platforms.

Mr. Divney manages the entire sales organization and its systems for the company’s cable television networks and online businesses, including MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, TV Land, CMT, Spike TV and Logo. In addition, he will help craft sales strategies and ad sales systems for the company’s many successful brands and businesses.

Sue Danaher, head of sales for the Nickelodeon networks, now reports directly to Mr. Divney. The replacement for Mr. Rohrer, who was in charge of sales at MTV’s music networks, is expected to be Hank Close, who worked with Mr. Divney at Comedy Central as executive VP of sales.
