The Jan. 14 series premiere of Sci Fi’s “Battlestar Galactica” was the second-highest debut in the network’s history, garnering 3.1 million viewers, according to Sci Fi. Though the show did not come close to breaking the net’s premiere record set by “Stargate Atlantis,” which was seen by 4.2 million viewers, the series is the network’s highest-rated January program ever. The series version of “Galactica” has benefited from positive critical reviews and comes after a well-received “Galactica” miniseries aired last year.
