‘Tyra’ to Launch on Fox Stations

Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution announced Monday that the talk strip “The Tyra Banks Show” has been sold to the Fox Television Station Group for a fall 2005 launch.

“Tyra,” hosted by “America’s Next Top Model” host and executive producer Tyra Banks, will air on Fox-owned stations in 19 markets: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Dallas, Washington, Atlanta, Detroit, Houston, Minneapolis, Phoenix, St. Louis, Cleveland, Orlando, Fla., Baltimore, Birmingham, Ala., Memphis, Tenn., Greensboro, N.C., and Austin, Texas.

In markets where Fox has a duopoly, “Tyra” may appear on one or both stations.

The sale brings the show’s national clearance to more than 70 percent of the country. The show was already sold in San Diego, Denver, Portland, Ore., and Charlotte, N.C.

The announcement was made by Frank Cicha, VP of programming for Fox Television Stations, and Jim Paratore, executive VP of Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution and president of Telepictures Productions, in Las Vegas on the eve of the National Association of Television Program Executives annual convention.

Mr. Paratore said he expects the show to be cleared at 90 percent by September.
