Ted Harbert was named president and CEO of E! Networks in July. Mr. Harbert was a longtime ABC executive who was head of the network’s entertainment division when it introduced such shows as “NYPD Blue,” “The Drew Carey Show,” “Spin City” and “The Practice.”
After leaving ABC, Mr. Harbert was a producer for DreamWorks SKG, serving as executive producer of “Arsenio” and “It’s like, You Know …”
Later he was president of NBC Studios. While with NBC, he oversaw shows including “Crossing Jordan,” “Ed” and “Will & Grace.”
Before joining ABC in 1977 Mr. Harbert worked as a producer in the news department at WHDH-Radio, Boston, while attending Boston University.
Charles Hirschhorn is the founder and CEO of G4.
Mr. Hirschhorn spent 10 years at The Walt Disney Co., working in both the motion picture and television divisions. He began at Disney as VP of production for Hollywood Pictures and was later promoted to president of Walt Disney Television and Television Animation, while continuing to serve as executive VP of production for the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group. While at Disney Mr. Hirschhorn was responsible for the development and production of “The Joy Luck Club,” “Quiz Show” and “The Santa Clause.”
Before joining Disney, Mr. Hirschhorn was VP of development for Fox Broadcasting, where he developed the series “In Living Color.”
He was also associate producer of the film “Bull Durham” and executive producer of “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.”
Gavin Harvey is president of Outdoor Life Network. He joined OLN from E! Networks, where he was executive VP of marketing and brand director.
Before joining E!, Mr. Harvey was senior VP and brand director at iN Demand, where he expanded the pay-per-view company’s sports programming, adding Major League Baseball, NBA and NHL out-of-market packages to the mix.
Earlier, Mr. Harvey held several executive positions at FX Network, including senior VP of marketing and promotion. Before FX, he held marketing positions at E!, Disney Channel and Accor Asia Pacific.
David Manougian has been president of The Golf Channel since 2002. He was one of the first people hired by the network when it was founded 10 years ago and has served as chief operating officer and chief marketing officer and managed several departments at the channel. Mr. Manougian also relaunched the network’s new media division-TheGolfChannel.com.
Before joining The Golf Channel, Mr. Manougian was director of golf sales and marketing for Nike and was a field marking and sales manager for E.&J. Gallo Winery.
Steve Smith was named managing director of International Channel Networks four months after joining the International Channel as executive VP.
Mr. Smith previously was executive VP and chief operating officer of Encore International. He was responsible for managing Encore’s China operations, including importing Western movies and dramas and directing the ad sales operation in China.
Previously Mr. Smith was managing director of Channel V Music Network, a group of channels owned by News Corp.’s Star TV.
Before moving to Asia, Mr. Smith spent 17 years with HBO in Europe and New York.
