‘Desperate,’ ‘CSI’ Score SAG Awards

ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” and CBS’s “CSI” took top honors at the 11th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards Saturday, with the women and men of Wisteria Lane winning a best comedy ensemble award and the Las Vegas forensic team winning best drama ensemble.

The late Jerry Orbach won the SAG Award for outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series for his work in NBC’s “Law & Order,” while Jennifer Garner won the female actor in a drama series statuette for ABC’s “Alias.”

On the comedy side, Tony Shalhoub walked home with the outstanding performance by a male actor award for his work in USA’s “Monk.” Teri Hatcher won in the comedy female actor category for ABC’s “Desperate Housewives.”

In the television movie or miniseries categories, Geoffrey Rush won an outstanding male actor award for his work in HBO’s “The Life and Death of Peter Sellers,” while Glenn Close won a female actor award for her portrayal of Eleanor of Aquitaine for Showtime’s remake of “The Lion in Winter.”

The Screen Actors Guild 41st annual life achievement award went to James Garner.
