Celebrity-centered E! Entertainment plans a new series that lets stars tell their own stories. “My Crazy Life” (the working title) is scheduled to debut March 9 at 10 p.m. Each episode of the six-part series will feature two celebrities’ stories told from an up-close-and-personal vantage point. Those experiences might be touching, surreal or unbelievable, according to the network.
The pilot episode features actor Samuel L. Jackson telling the tale about the time he was almost killed when his foot got caught in the door of a New York subway train.
The series is executive produced by Neil and Michael Mandt of Mandt Brothers Productions. The duo previously worked on ESPN’s “Jim Rome Is Burning” and Pax’s “Speed Dating.”
E! President Ted Harbert said “My Crazy Life” is one of a number of new shows on the network that will be promoted during the network’s coverage of the Academy Awards red carpet arrivals.
Other shows include “Gastineau Girls” and “Hollywood Hold ‘Em,” a show about poker.
“There’s also a decent chance the Michael Jackson show will launch off the Oscars,” Mr. Harbert said. That would depend on when the trial of the king of pop begins. E! plans to create re-enactments of testimony from each day’s court proceedings and air them the following day.
