Digital video recorder maker TiVo on Friday said its subscriber base surpassed the 3-million mark at the end of January, and that it doubled its subscribers during the fiscal year that ended Jan. 31. The Alviso, Calif.-based company said it added about 698,000 new subscribers in the fourth quarter, including 251,000 TiVo-owned customers and 447,000 customers through its partnership with DirecTV Group.

The subscriber growth comes as TiVo works through a series of high-level management challenges. President Martin Yudkovitz recently announced his plan to resign, while Chairman and CEO Michael Ramsay said he will give up the CEO title once a replacement has been named.
