Chris Rose has been named host of Fox Sports Net’s “The Best Damn Sports Show Period.”

Current co-host Tom Arnold reached a one-year agreement to appear on the show, but only when the program goes on the road for major events such as the NCAA Final Four, the World Series or the Super Bowl.

Mr. Rose, who has been on hiatus from the program for three months, will return March 21, when the show will aim to focus more on breaking news, the network said.

John Salley, who had been hosting with Mr. Arnold, will stay on as a cast member. The remaining cast has not been named.
