“The Insider” host Pat O’Brien, who left the show to enter an alcohol rehab program, will return to the rookie syndicated strip Thursday, May 5. Mr. O’Brien was released from rehab on Sunday. He began his program in March.

In a statement released by Paramount Domestic Television, Mr. O’Brien said, “I want to thank everyone for their support during the past few weeks. I plan to continue my recovery with the help and support of my family, colleagues and friends and look forward to getting back to work.”

“Insider” executive producer Linda Bell Blue said in the statement “I spent time with Pat recently and he’s looking and feeling great.”

“We’re all excited to welcome him back to the office and back on the air,” she added.

Mr. O’Brien, who was the “Entertainment Tonight” spinoff’s original host, joined “Insider” after leaving NBC Universal’s “Access Hollywood” in August.
