Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, has recommended that the White House nominate Christine Kurth to a seat at the Federal Communications Commission.

Ms. Kurth, 34, is deputy staff director for the Senate Commerce Committee.

She previously held posts on the Senate Appropriations Committee and the National Labor Relations Board. Earl Comstock, Sen. Stevens’ first choice for an FCC slot, recently took himself out of the running.
