Spike TV has hired former A&E scheduler John Griffin as VP of programming, the network announced Tuesday.

“John was instrumental in the recent resurgence of A&E, and he brings with him a different perspective, a wealth of programming experience and a well-respected reputation among program suppliers,” said Robert Friedman, senior VP of programming for Spike. “His hiring, as well as additional changes within Spike’s programming department, are part of our continuing strategy, which is focused on serving our male audience.”

Mr. Friedman also announced Nancy Leidersdorff has been hired as director of media planning and Erin McQuade has been promoted to senior director of programming.
