The Force is with three Discovery Communications networks in advance of the release of the latest “Star Wars” film, “Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.”

Animal Planet announced Tuesday that on May 18 at 9 p.m., the day before the film is released, it will air a special “Animal Icons: Star Wars Creatures.” The special is narrated by Anthony Daniels, the voice of C-3PO, and will feature footage from “Revenge of the Sith” and interviews with cast and crew from the “Star Wars” saga.

Discovery Channel will feature a three-part special, “Science of Star Wars,” to be televised May 16, 17 and 18 at 8 p.m. The “Science of Star Wars” specials will run as a block May 18 on Discover HD Theater from 8-11 p.m.
