Brockman Up, Binford Out for Disney-ABC PR

Kevin Brockman, has been promoted to senior VP, communications, Disney-ABC Television Group. Mr. Brockman’s promotion was announced Friday by Anne Sweeney, co-chairman of media networks for The Walt Disney Co., and president, Disney-ABC Television Group, and Zenia Mucha, senior VP of communications for Disney. Mr. Brockman will report to Ms. Mucha. This coincides with the announcement that Sue Binford has resigned her position as senior VP, corporate communications, for the company.

Mr. Brockman will be responsible for all corporate and entertainment communication efforts on behalf of the company, which includes the ABC Television Network, the Disney-ABC Cable Networks Group, Touchstone Television, Walt Disney Television Animation, ABC Corporate Initiatives, ABC-owned stations and ABC Radio. He will continue to oversee the ABC network’s photography/new media and talent relations departments.

Mr. Brockman has worked for Disney since 1997. He joined ABC from UPN, where he was part of the team that launched the network in January 1995. He began his career in television communications as the director of public relations, marketing and on-air promo for Fox Television Stations Productions. Before that he served as manager of public relations for Radio City Music Hall Productions in New York.
