Mark Burnett Productions and Madison Road Entertainment have settled their legal dispute, executives said Friday.

As part of their agreement, the companies have agreed to co-produce a future branded entertainment show. Additionally, Madison Road will sell a number of advertising opportunities in “The Apprentice 5,” a future version of the Mark Burnett-produced show on NBC.

Madison Road Entertainment has sold branded entertainment opportunities in Mark Burnett’s previous version of “The Apprentice” to companies such as Procter & Gamble’s Crest brand, Levi Strauss & Co. and Masterfoods USA.

On March 3, Mark Burnett Productions sued Madison Road for unfairly profiting from deals it made for Mr. Burnett’s show “The Apprentice.” Six days later, Madison Road countersued Mr. Burnett’s company for $20 million, alleging defamation and trade libel.

Madison Road executives declined to comment about a settlement. Calls to Burnett executives were not returned by press time.
