Jackson to Produce ‘Afro Samurai’ for Spike TV

Spike TV announced on Tuesday that Samuel L. Jackson will produce and voice a new animated show, “Afro Samurai.” The five-episode series will premiere in 2006. Mr. Jackson will produce with Japanese anime studio Gonzo and Fuji Television.

Spike also said it signed a two-year strategic partnership with The Ultimate Fighting Championship organization. Spike will televise two new seasons of “The Ultimate Fighter.” The next season will premiere Aug. 22. The deal also calls for Spike to air six live UFC fight cards and 26 one-hour episodes of a series that culls great moments from the UFC library.
