NBC Universal Television Distribution has signed “Will & Grace” star Megan Mullally to host a nationally syndicated talk show. The one-hour strip, to originate from Los Angeles, will be sold to local TV stations for a fall 2006 debut.

Ms. Mullally is best known to TV audiences for her Emmy Award-winning role as socialite Karen Walker on NBC’s “Will & Grace,” which was renewed for the 2005-06 season. Ms. Mullally, who made her Broadway debut in the 1994 revival of “Grease” with Rosie O’Donnell, is also the lead singer and founder of the band Supreme Music Program.

The deal was announced Tuesday by Jeffrey Zucker, president of NBC Universal Television Group; Frederick Huntsberry, executive VP of NBC Universal Television Distribution; and Barry Wallach, president of NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution.
